CPC 6.3.0 released to internal beta testing. Some bug fixes, a 30-day free trial, and a redesigned license management system which allows us to bring CPC to market in a sane manner. (The license management in 6.2.0 wasn't up to scratch.)
14 December 2007
CPC 6.2.0 released to internal beta testing. Lots of new features, for the first paid-for release:
  • Keystore.
  • Text editor supports File|New. Text editor can be opened without a file.
  • New crypto - paves the way for random access within encrypted objects (eg. fast-forward / rewind within audio tracks). [We plan to make this particular feature available in a future release - sorry, it isn't available right now.]
  • Rewritten image handling.
  • Tools|Reset preview sizes has been moved to the Options menu for ease.
  • XSPF (playlist) support in all relevant plugins: audio player (which had it previously), image viewer, text editor, and browser interface.
  • Auto-repeat ("loop around) folder / playlist is now specified for each plugin, rather than using a global option.
  • Image viewer has a slideshow feature.
  • Unencrypted archives now open automatically - they don't ask you for a password.
  • When archives or zips are referred to in a result set, but aren't open, then Checkpoint Commander will open them automatically if it can.
  • Rename on panel right-click menu.
  • Properties for folders (including aggregate size).
  • Revamped MIME type, viewer and binding management.
